This cake is a masterpiece. Not only is it a food bloggers dream to photograph, but each of its many flavour layers work in perfect harmony.
There are fresh strawberries, a juicy watermelon slice, gorgeous rose-scented cream, almond dacquoise and to top it off, rose petals and pistachios. How much more lavish can you get, right?
Now personally, I'm not the biggest strawberry fan (shock horror), so this cake isn't my favourite thing ever. But I can still appreciate why it's become Black Star Pastry's most popular cake. Black Star Pastry is known for its heavenly creations, both sweet and savoury. Their Rosebery store is lovely and spacious, and seems to cater for the food cravings of all the trendy professionals working in the area (and probably everyone else too).
All in all, this cake tastes like an exotic summer, and its prettiness alone is enough to make one of the 100 Sydney Dishes to Die For.
