I'm not really a label person. The luxury and glamour of high fashion is part of a world that, at least for now, is out of my reach. As much as I would love to have some Gucci or Michael Kors in my wardrobe, my money is better spent on other things, like food and living. Come to think of it, I probably don't even have enough in my bank account to splurge on anything close to couture. Which is fine because I'm used to it, and I've never really seen the need for anything that expensive anyway.
But recently something opened my eyes to why people covet high fashion so much. And not just any something, this was a pale pink Versus Versace pant suit. I was shopping at Foveaux (see my post: Hidden Gems at Foveaux) when the manager pulled it out for me. She said a lady bought it in Italy from last year's winter collection, and never wore it. I couldn't understand why.
I fell in love at first sight.
The colour was a lovely, pastel pink, the blazer had beautiful ornamental buttons and the pants were the perfect high-waisted height. Then, something happened that almost never happens in a recycled clothing store. The suit fit like a glove. On top of that, it was only $50. Expensive for the store, yes, but super cheap for Versace. The manager even threw in the silk top shown below, because she knew how much I liked it.
I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to wear it. Now, I'm not game enough to wear the the entire suit together, especially not in Sydney. New York or Paris maybe, one day. But for my friend's 21st, this is the outfit I put together, featuring the Versace pants.
I painted my nails a pastel green to compliment
the pink. This gold chain was also from Foveaux
and was only $5.
I used the Too Faced Naturals eyeshadow
palette and Covergirl Lip Perfection
Jumbo Gloss Balm (colour 235.)
