Yet Another Vivid Sydney Post...

Here we go. It's time for my inevitable jump onto the Vivid bandwagon.

Bloggers, instagramers, tumblr(ers?), and essentially anyone who owns a camera, have been treated to a smorgasbord of picture-perfect moments as Vivid lit up the city of Sydney.

The festival of lights, music and ideas attracts hundreds of thousands of wide-eyed, snap-happy visitors every year. In a city that is already charming, Vivid brings a sort of magic that leaves us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, even when we're braving the winter chill.

My Vivid experience was a thrilling one, even though we made the somewhat silly decision to go on the opening Saturday night. Despite struggling to navigate our way through the pedestrian traffic, we still managed to see most of the exhibits from Circular Quay to Martin Place to Darling Harbour, where we ended the night with cocktails and an illuminated celebration of beauty.

Sydney Customs House was one of the many buildings to get a multi-coloured facelift.

Lucky George St was closed, because I've never seen
so many people in the city before.

You can't do Vivid without a Messina sundae!

I was entranced by this tree and its colourful inhabitants.

Darling Harbour looked beautiful as the water was streaked with colour.

Get out of the way, pole!

Time to wind down with a frozen piƱa colada at Margaritaville

This ballerina astounded onlookers as she danced to the swell of an orchestra.
